ATMCMA / NEW YORK TURKISH MUSIC / VATAN CHORUS PRESS RELEASE

VATAN CHOIR SPRING CONCERT IN 2026 SPRING

Vatan Choir, one of the oldest and most established Turkish music institutions in the United States, is preparing for its Spring Concert.

Under the direction of Gökhan Seyrek, a graduate of the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Conservatory and an accomplished oud player, the choir continues its rehearsals without interruption. The choir announced that the concert will take place on Saturday evening, May 3, at Adler Hall in the New York Society for Ethical Culture in Manhattan.

The choir carefully balances Classical Turkish Music and Turkish Folk Music in its performances, and it was stated that this concert will also consist of two parts, maintaining that tradition.

Up to now, Vatan Choir has used all remaining funds from its concerts to support children affected by disasters in disadvantaged regions of Turkey, helping with needs such as clothing and education. For this upcoming concert, the choir announced that it is seeking support from members of the Turkish community and business leaders in New York and New Jersey.

Speaking about the financial challenges, Vatan Choir President Sibel Özdemir said: “Ticket income does not even cover the expenses. Without sponsorship support, organizing concerts in the United States is almost impossible because venue rentals are very expensive. The support of our business owners and community members is extremely important to us. Please do not withhold your support.

Özdemir also emphasized that sponsors will be promoted on social media and at the concert venue throughout the promotional campaign.
